I am a 28-year-old guy from India, going by the pseudonym of Theo. Used to work in the finance industry, then quit that job in 2019 to explore and carve out my path. My latent interest in psychology (and the need for a source of income) initially drew me toward direct response marketing. While skilling myself in that domain, I was obsessing about what makes us tick and why/how we think and feel what we do. At the same time, I was desperately trying to resolve some of my own emotional hangups.
I started tinkering around with meditation, altered states of consciousness, and non-traditional therapeutic tools (often combining these in interesting ways). I devoured books, worked with coaches, met many other self-exploration nerds (so grateful), and continued to learn + refine my skills. All this paid off big time in many intangible ways. I was already in a good space, but I had no idea I could experience this kind of peace, love, and connectedness in my life. (I believe most of us currently experience only a fraction of the aliveness and love we are capable of inhabiting. Wish we could somehow quantify the existential upsides to show ourselves what we’re missing out on)
Along the way, around 2022, I started introducing the people around me to IFS, pleasantly surprising them (and myself) with my ability to facilitate transformative experiences. These individuals then enthusiastically talked about their experiences and sent other people my way. I was lucky to receive this kind of trust, support and encouragement when I was just starting out. Since then, I have had the privilege of guiding 650+ (1300hrs) sessions helping people connect more deeply with themselves.
I am not a licensed professional and do not have any formal training. I just seem to be pretty good at finding good ideas, good tools, good people and then deeply connecting with them.
(I maintain a pseudonymous alt to freely talk about my explorations. You’ll see my real name and face if we meet 🙂
